One Year Later (Our New YouTube Channel!)

On October 19, 2015, Kelly and I posted our first blog post.

Our first ~official meeting~ for Coffee&Twigs. We even booked a conference room.

It was a light and cheery post describing a weekend jaunt to Quebec City. We snuck into the Château Frontenac, we gorged ourselves with sickeningly sweet Beaver Tails, and we explored the magnificent Montmorency Falls.

It was a great weekend: six friends basking in the final rays of summer sun, enjoying the last weekend before school work started demanding all of our time and energy. But the weekend stands out in my mind as something more.

We wrote what would become the first post of many, and with this post we became more than just passive bystanders, bumbling about aimlessly as life zipped by. We used Coffee & Twigs to do more, see more, explore more, and live more. We sampled new recipes, and gushed about the results. We went to Drag Queen Bingo Night, travelled to new places, hiked new mountains, and read new books. On one memorable occasion, and described in a post that still makes me laugh, Kelly even tried out Tinder.

It’s been an incredible year. We started out as two bored juniors in college, fed up with school and itching to break out of the mould.

We now live in Hong Kong! We just got back from Thailand and we’re currently backpacking through Japan. We’re trying new things, meeting new people, and having more fun than ever. We’re not just living- we’re thriving.

It’s October 19, 2016. One year later, we’re ready to go a step further- we’re creating a YouTube Channel.

If anyone out there is interested in watching us bumble around Asia, click here to watch our first video!!

Of course, we’re writers, and we’ll never stop writing. Coffee & Twigs can’t be replaced. But the ItsSamAndKelly youtube channel gives us a new platform with which to explore and create, and we could not be more excited!

Congrats on one year, and thank you for some excellent work. Coffee and Twigs on video? Not certain. It may simply make me dissatisfied with life and wish I were zipping around Asia (without having to go to class).
